Common Sense Education provides teachers and schools with free research-based classroom tools to help students harness technology for learning and life. Our K–12 Digital Citizenship Curriculum teaches students how to make safe, smart, and ethical decisions in the digital world.

 

We are seeking a curriculum content intern for the Education team. This role will work in our San Francisco office to support projects for Common Sense Education. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is interested in digital citizenship, educating students, curriculum production, and making a positive impact on schools.

 

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Support content production for the Digital Citizenship Curriculum
  • Revise customer support entries related to our resources
  • Learn how curriculum development and publishing processes work
  • Explore what teachers need for an effective curriculum and support teaching it

 

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE ON YOUR RÉSUMÉ:

  • Majors relevant to K-12 education preferred (education, communications, psychology, social work, etc.), or otherwise demonstrated interest in these subjects
  • Prior experience in educational settings, or creating or teaching lessons with students (in school, after-school, or camp settings) is helpful
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with Google apps (Google Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Ideal start date: Orientation is Monday, June 17, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. On-site attendance is preferred.
  • Ideal end date: Friday, August 9, 2019
  • Hours: ~15-20 hours/week
  • Interns need to be available to attend a minimum of six weekly educational Lunch & Learns (there will be seven total). Lunch & Learns will be every Wednesday from 12 p.m.–1:00 p.m. (PST). On-site attendance is preferred.
  • We will work with your clinical or internship office for school credit.
  • This is a paid opportunity.
