Common Sense Kids Action is looking for a digital campaign coordinator to join our fast-paced team. This role will work closely with the digital campaign coordinator to execute digital advocacy campaigns at the national and state levels. This role will be responsible for drafting and creating all social media content (including graphics), draft and compile blog posts, create targeted advocate lists, and upload content onto the Common Sense website. This role will build emails, webpages, and blogs to effectively communicate the work of the Kids Action team. Attention to detail, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a basic understanding of government process are musts. The ideal candidate would be able to work across departments and platforms in an effective manner.

TYPE: Full-time (40 hours per week)

REPORTS TO: Senior Director, national advocacy


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

 

Social Media

Use strong social media instincts to support the Kids Action team's social media outreach efforts.

  • Draft social media outreach tweets, Facebook posts, and Instagram feed language.
  • Help develop and maintain content-creation strategy.
  • Create unique, relevant, and engaging social media content.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of social media analytics.

 

Campaigns

Coordinate with senior staff members to enhance the Kids Action team's campaign execution.

  • Schedule, test, and deploy dynamic and content-driven campaigns.
  • Create and maintain email target lists, collaborating closely with senior staff to create appropriate targets.
  • Coordinate campaign assets including copy, blogs, letters, images, social media content, etc.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on digital content.
  • Monitor digital campaign performance and create comprehensive weekly performance reports.

 

Other

  • Research and special projects, as needed.
  • Assist with administrative and ad hoc requests, as needed.

 

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE IN YOUR APPLICATION:

 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with and interest in political advocacy, specifically focused on kids' issues
  • Bonus points for previous experience in social media channel management, graphic design, journalism, and government/public policy
