Campaign Director

Common Sense is seeking a Senior Campaign Director to lead the coordination of a new public awareness initiative to raise awareness about technology’s impact on society. The campaign will involve a series of events, content development, communications, public education, and actions. 

The ideal candidate has senior-level experience and interest in communications, politics, event planning, and advocacy, and flourishes in a fast-paced environment. The role requires working with the internal marketing, communications and advocacy teams, as well as coordinating with partners and individual stakeholders.

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

TYPE: Full time; 40 hours per week



  • Conceive and plan a series of impact events -- including scouting and securing locations, working with vendors and VIP guests, prepping speakers, overseeing the in-market promotions and ticket sales.
  • Manage coordinated communications and marketing campaigns to amplify the events, the speakers, and the issues they raise.
  • Coordinate any resulting public or grasstops actions at the local, state and federal levels to enhance campaign messaging.


  • Demonstrated success in managing campaigns that yield awareness and change.
  • Past experience managing projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
