We also work with policymakers, industry leaders, legislators, and to improve the media and education landscape for kids, families, and schools.

We are seeking a Family and Community Engagement Coordinator to support and manage content, marketing, communications, and social media efforts, bilingual texting offering, and general program needs focused on serving lower-income families and communities of color across the country. 

LOCATION:  San Francisco, California (remote available)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time (40 hours per week) 

REPORTS TO: Director of Family and Community Engagement

YOU WILL or KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Content Support (written and video/visual formats):

  • Maintain content library inventory (English and Spanish) and upload Spanish content to the site.
  • Liaise with the video and design teams: coordination of video translations, request videos and image creation, track timeline, and final delivery.
  • Manage Spanish-language article updates and translations (liaise w/ FACE and Ratings Reviews teams).

Marketing/ Communications

  • Monitor relevant news for the FACE audience (Latino, Black, and lower-income families) and flag to the team as needed. 
  • Support community engagement in live streams and webinars.
  • Support marketing and comm efforts.

Social Media

  • Execute the team’s social media strategy in Facebook (English) and support the execution of  Spanish Instagram and Facebook channels. This includes community management, engagement with other accounts/orgs, and scheduling.
  • Post regular updates via social media channels (30+ posts per week via FB in both languages + Instagram Latino), including culturally relevant images for Instagram and Facebook.  
  • Create a  monthly report to analyze data and performance from Facebook and Instagram and track Facebook and campaign performances; draft recurring reports to measure effectiveness.

Texting Program

  • Support Tech Balance content creation and coordinate translations, program content onto CCL (third party provider) platform and reply to users. 
  • Transcreate text messages content to Spanish.
  • Assist in coordinating the content bank and calendar for Tech Balance.
  • Gather monthly metrics and results.

General program support 

  • Data entry/organizing on spreadsheets and salesforce. Track team’s results (Google Analytics, media outreach, social media, number of presentations and webinar and texting program) and add them to the Salesforce dashboard.  
  • Periodically review Latino email (and TBD Tech Balance email) and assign questions/suggestions as they come.
  • Help the team stay organized and on track by supporting the management of Asana and Google Drive.  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor's degree with a minor in education, media studies,  journalism, or English.
  •  Bilingual (English-Spanish). Able to speak and write in both languages.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a coordinator, working at mission-driven organizations. 
  • You are a great communicator.
  • You have a high level of empathy and enjoy working with diverse teams. 
  • You are a flexible, fast learner and enjoy learning new things. 
  • You are organized, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. 
  • You believe in the power of education and the role media and tech can plan to help low-income families and communities.
