The recruiter will be at the forefront of identifying and recruiting the most talented professionals to advance the Common Sense mission. They will work closely with the manager, talent acquisition, and people operations, to ensure that hiring managers have the support, tools, and training to find the right candidates for their open positions. This position requires discretion and a high degree of confidentiality, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement. The recruiter is a public face of the organization and must be capable of accurately and enthusiastically promoting the Common Sense mission, culture, and employee experience to prospective new hires. They will serve as a vital point of contact for employees and managers throughout the employee life cycle, from recruitment to succession planning.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time (40 hours per week) 

REPORTS TO: Manager, talent acquisition and people operations


  • Own the full-cycle candidate experience from sourcing to offer, offering a top-notch candidate experience.
  • Support the organization's recruitment strategy and process, ensuring that our approaches incorporate principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
  • Actively source and recruit candidates for open positions across several channels (LinkedIn, Idealist, Indeed, professional networks, social media, etc.).
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to develop job postings and maintain up-to-date job descriptions for all positions.
  • Manage complex schedules using various tools, including Google Calendar, Zoom, and Recruiterbox.
  • Assist with drafting recruiting reports and provide regular updates to hiring managers on the recruiting status of each position.
  • Partner with the manager, talent acquisition, and people operations, to design, develop, and manage an ongoing recruitment strategy that yields a broad, diverse, and qualified candidate pool.
  • Play an active role on the people ops team, providing updates on recruitment efforts and contributing to HR initiatives as needed.


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a business/HR emphasis preferred.
    • A minimum of 23 years of proven work experience as a recruiter or in an HR role with an emphasis on recruitment.  
  • Applicant tracking system (ATS) experience; experience with Recruiterbox and BambooHR is a plus.
  • Experience with various sourcing methods, interviewing techniques, candidate vetting, and salary negotiation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring great time-management skills and the ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms).
